Just a quick note about your latest newsletter, on 02/28/02.

Thanks for a lucid review of just how much link popularity really does matter. When I put up one of my domains a two years ago, I had no links at all, other than those established by submitting my site to SEs.

By following sound principles in website design and construction--those that you talk about all the time--I was on page one, number 1, 2 or 3 for all the major SEs (I'm not talking directories here) and have remained at that spot ever since. In that time, I've searched out 4 sites that I link to, two of which link back to me.

I'm not boasting here at all, but simply letting you know that you are dead right (I don't have to tell you that, of course) and you have always "delivered the goods".
